Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) Profile

The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) was established under the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act of 2005 to provide for a successor corporate body to Radio Uganda and Uganda Television. It is mandated to provide national radio and television services. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda.

 

 

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist the Accountants Financial Reporting and Senior Financial Accountant with any duties that they may assign him in the course of the department’s work.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

• General Ledger with suppliers invoices
• Receiving and verification of supplier invoices
• Scrutinizing supplier source documents for accuracy and validity
• Ensuring that the sales executives individual advance on commissions accounts are up to date
• Customers data entry management into Accounting System
• Posting staff advance deductions in Accounting System
• Preparing bank reconciliations for all UBC’s active bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Reconciliation of Office Cash Collections against daily Banking.
• Carry out tax fillings and Making returns.
• Reconciliation of suppliers Accounts
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the superiors from time to time.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

• The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma in Commerce, Business Administration or any other related field majoring in Accounting and Finance from a recognized institution.
• Must have good knowledge of computerized accounting.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• The successful candidate should be ready to work in up country stations including hard to reach areas like Moroto, Arua, Kasese, Bundibugyo, Nakasongola, Butebo.
