Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative formerly known as Reach Out Mbuya Parish HIV/AIDS Initiative (ROM) is a community-based non-governmental organization working with the urban and rural poor communities currently in 6 districts and ready to expand further. ROM provides a unique model of care to People Living with HIV and where necessary their families; taking care of the medical, social, emotional, and economical aspects of their lives to foster dignified living.
The program initiated in May 2001 at Our Lady of Africa Mbuya Catholic Parish to address the AIDS scourge in the slum communities of the Parish has since experienced rapid growth scaling up further beyond the parish jurisdiction. Starting with 14 HIV+ clients in 2001, currently ≥7000 are served annually.
Job Summary:
The IT Assistant will plan, repair, maintain and support information technology infrastructure as well as the implementation of ROM Information Technology Policy among the ICYD activity team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain System Security, manage and monitor user access control & rights, in line with the ROM IT policy and operation guidelines
- Monitor Network performance, detect, diagnose, and repair problems in line with the ROM IT policy, operation guidelines and best practices.
- Regularly backup all data, systems, and databases.
- Maintain appropriate logs and inventories of all IT equipment, consumables, servicing and repairs.
- Install, monitor and maintain software and hardware of the ROM.
- Test new equipment, applications and provide feedback.
- Maintain workstation server and IT equipment through system diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and upgrade of systems in line with ROM IT policy and operation guidelines.
- Support and observe the safeguarding culture of ROM, regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues; Ensuring health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission and the values of Reach Out Mbuya.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting IT function in a busy organization preferably under PEPFAR/USAID programs.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of various operating systems, information security and web management are key.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and be self-driven.
